Independent and Community Driven · Not a government portal

About

A gateway built for Gilgit-Baltistan.

An independent attempt to make trusted information, local opportunities, and community problem-solving easier to find—without pretending to be something it is not.

Why this exists

Information about services, opportunities, and local issues is spread across official portals, social media, and word of mouth. That makes it easy to miss something important—or to trust the wrong version of it.

This gateway starts with three public jobs: help people reach official sources, publish opportunities only after human review, and give residents a simple way to record local problems. A fourth workstream—practical software for schools, colleges, hotels, and businesses—can generate revenue while core public information and civic participation stay free.

The homepage is curated and lightweight. Detailed functionality belongs on its own page, not in a wall of buttons.

What this is—and isn’t

No government affiliation or endorsement is implied. Linking to an official source does not make this platform official.

This is

  • Independent and community-built.
  • A curated gateway to official sources.
  • Honest about what is verified and what is not.
  • Free for core public information and civic participation.

This is not

  • An official government portal.
  • A news website or a generic blog.
  • A guarantee of a job, visa, admission, or resolution.
  • A complaint channel that reaches departments today.

Verification standards

If we cannot verify it, we do not publish it. These standards apply to resources, opportunities, and guides.

  • Official sources must be identifiable, live, and reachable from an official domain.
  • Every resource shows the date it was last checked.
  • Opportunities require a source, deadline, eligibility, and human approval before publication.
  • Guides link to authoritative sources and show when they were last reviewed.
  • No scraped listings, invented statistics, paid placements, or implied government endorsements.
  • Corrections are reviewed and dated when a public correction channel opens.

Release order

Build the useful, verifiable layer first. Add complexity only when the process behind it is real.

  4. 04

    Local software ecosystem

Practical products for institutions, funding the free public layer.

Corrections

A public correction channel will open with the beta. Until then, the directory and guides are limited to sources that can be checked directly.

When reporting a correction, include the page URL, what is wrong, and a link to the correct source. Corrections are reviewed by a person, not applied automatically.

No public correction channel is open yet. This page will be updated when it is.

Privacy

This preview does not create accounts, sell data, or send civic reports to a server. Reports saved in the civic tool are stored in your browser’s local storage on this device.

  • No third-party analytics are installed in this preview.
  • Photos are not uploaded. The civic MVP stores only the file name and any optional contact text you enter.
  • Do not enter sensitive personal information. Clearing your browser storage removes saved reports.

Terms

This is an independent informational project. Content is provided for guidance and may change. Official sources control their own information.

We do not guarantee that a report will be acted on, that a listing remains open, or that any service will be delivered. Always confirm details on the official source. Nothing here is legal advice.

Accessibility

The target is WCAG 2.2 AA. That includes keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, a skip link, text labels for status, reduced-motion support, and contrast checks.

Accessibility issues are treated as defects, not enhancements. A public feedback channel will be published before the beta.

Contact

The public contact and correction channels are not open yet. They will be published here before the beta, along with a clear process for corrections, accessibility feedback, and source suggestions.

No job applications, civic reports, or payments are accepted through this page.
